TEXTILE RECYCLING DRIVE @ aNDERSON SEC SCHOOL

Together with the school's Green Club, we organized a textile drive during the national Girl Guide event. Many schools participated to showcase different ways of recycling as well! Here's a few:

  • Using t-shirt to make bag - by Anderson Sec school

  • Using magazine & straw to make pin-wheel craft - by St. Nicolas Girls' School (SNGS)

  • Using mineral water bottle to make piggy bank - by Singapore Chinese Girls School (SCGS)

  • Using plastic bag to make flower - Endeavour Primary School


SUPPORTING STUDENTS IN PROJECTS / RESEARCH WORK

  1. ACJC - project to investigate issues of textile waste in Singapore

  2. Ngee Ann Polytechnic - project aims to inculcate environmental-friendly habits among children aged 4-6 years old

  3. NUS - an honours project on Textile Waste Management in Singapore

  4. SJI - participating in Youth Innovation Challenge organised by Singapore Management University - to improve recycling rate in SG

  5. Hwa Chong Institution - project work to improve textile recycling in SG and promote awareness of the harmful impacts of fast fashion
